What advantages does this green zone bring to the city?
Located in the Salitre area of Bogotá, Distrito Verde is a project dedicated to the creation of living cultural spaces for citizens around the environmental recovery of a space of 24.4 hectares. When we talk about living cultural spaces, it has to do with the power to develop different arenas around culture and recreation. This multi-use project aims to become an oasis in the geographical center of Bogotá, and we seek to prove that it is possible to combine environmental development with a diverse range of cultural and recreational offers.
How will they manage it, considering that no infrastructure is allowed on the land?
It’s perfect because this is the evolution of the industry, having an infrastructure that can adapt and move. All we’re planning on is building a temporary, mobile, adaptable infrastructure. So we have a big advantage in that because what this place allows is exactly what we want to do.
How much is the investment?
We are talking about an investment of about 22 million dollars. Now, one of the objectives of Distrito Verde is to restore the environment of this space, which means that it must comply with the ecological structure. In this sense, part of the investment is aimed at restoring more than 180,000 square meters of green area, which means carrying out water, animal, plant and soil studies; as well as plant native species and complying with all the regulations established for their conservation. It is undoubtedly a broader vision aimed at the conservation of this space.

When will the project be put into operation?
This project can be assembled very quickly, as long as we have the approval of the Ministry of Environment. We will have a process of planting, care and management of the species for the sake of environmental development to guarantee the right care. This work can last for five years, but the idea of the project is that it also allows the assembly of temporary structures in order to host different events.
What impact will it have on the city’s economy?
These types of initiatives will have a positive impact on the city from several perspectives. The first is environmental development, which is one of the most important contributions. The second thing is that we seek to promote economic development through the development of activities, creating an average of about 1,300 jobs, depending on the type of activity we deal with. Thirdly, it is a cultural and recreational window. It is worth noting that the project will also have a positive impact on tourism.
What types of programming will this space host?
The beauty of this development is that it will not compete with any existing infrastructure in the city. In fact, there is no similar development in the whole of Latin America. I believe Distrito Verde is a symbol of leadership and a strategic vision of how to combine social, environmental and cultural aspects. It is an adaptable space that can host innovation and different performances. I think a big advantage of this project is that it will not have a rigid structure, which will attract more performances.

Will they have a variety of entertainment activities?
Of course. This initiative represents culture and entertainment in Bogotá, offering a novel alternative to exhibitions, conferences, family events, musicals, gastronomy, fashion, leisure and entertainment for all audiences in the city.
Likewise, it will feature parking, commercial tents, bathrooms, picnic areas, and educational and recreational spaces.
Do you have any favorite performances?
A lot of things are coming. Part of our job is to bring the best shows to this country; we want to bring fresh content to Colombia.

It is very important to have direct investment from a group that has the same influence on the global entertainment world as Live Nation, Ocesa in Latin America, because it is a message of positivism and foresight, as the business sector is mobilizing the country. We firmly believe that the entertainment industry can continue to contribute to the economy. For our part, we are committed not only to promoting the development of this industry, but also to being responsible for the environment.
Do you hope to replicate this project in other cities across the country?
Absolutely. We believe that this initiative can be replicated in other cities in Colombia and other countries in the region.
