Artificial BroadCast Unitedligence (AI) is advancing by leaps and bounds. Ten years ago, the advances made in digital technology seemed like science fiction. Only five years ago, the first version of ChatGPT was launched, and its most advanced version was recently released. Artificial BroadCast Unitedligence at OpenAI, a company led by Sam Altman, is constantly evolving and is now seeking to become more and more like humans.

These developments herald the arrival of what the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) defines as the “singularity,” the moment when artificial BroadCast Unitedligence equals and surpasses the power of the human mind.

“Today we are experiencing what is professional AI. It is estimated that by 2050, general BroadCast Unitedligence will have been developed. In other words, general AI will have enough capabilities and autonomy to act on its own,” explains Sergio Valenzuela, professor with a degree in Systems Engineering at Unifraz Franz Tamayo University.

According to Valenzuela, until a few years ago, the singularity was not expected to arrive until 2050; but due to the pandemic and the accelerated development of AI-related technologies, that gap has been shortened by 15 years.

“After the pandemic, momentum built and the gap was shortened by 15 years. It is estimated that by 2035 we should have general artificial BroadCast Unitedligence, whose thinking will be autonomous and, who knows, even self-sentient,” he said.

In short, GPT-5 marks a huge leap forward in AI language and reasoning capabilities

Although a release date for GPT-5 has yet to be set, OpenAI executives have already detailed what new features the version will have and what improvements it will bring over the recently released 4o version.

At a recent conference, the tech company’s CEO stressed that GPT-5 will try to address the issues currently encountered by GPT-4. This advancement will mean significant improvements in the model’s reasoning and reliability, as well as multimodal capabilities (including not only text, but also images and videos). These improvements are intended to expand the application possibilities of generative AI in various fields and provide smarter and more precise responses.

OpenAI explains that this will bring AI closer to “human” levels of reasoning, bringing the technology closer to the singularity.

GPT-5 proposes five major improvements

1. Larger size and processing power: It is expected to have trillions of parameters, compared to GPT-3’s 175 billion, and requires enormous computing power to train the model.

2. Better understanding of context: You’ll be able to carry on long conversations without losing the thread and have a more refined general understanding of the world.

3. More specialized knowledge: Expertise in fields such as medicine, law, and finance will be incorporated, which will allow for greater customization to specific areas

4 Greater accuracy and consistency: You will produce texts with excellent grammar and logic, and fewer factual errors and contradictions

5 Incremental learning capability: You will be able to learn and improve through new data and interactions, rather than relying solely on initial training on massive datasets

In short, GPT-5 marks a huge leap forward in AI’s language and reasoning capabilities.

What impact will this new version have?

The arrival of GPT-5 could transform the capabilities of virtual assistants and natural language processing tools for consumers and businesses, and have significant implications for fields such as medicine, education, and research.

“This language model’s ability to process multimodal data opens the door to new applications beyond written text, allowing for deeper and more precise analysis of complex information,” OpenAI explained in a statement.

Another aspect to consider is the boost this language model will bring to the field of information and communication technology.

Companies like Apple and Microsoft are working closely with OpenAI, which is crucial to the improvement and functionality of tools like ChatGPT and Copilot, thereby getting more consumers interested in this technology.

For example, according to specialized media reports, global PC shipments are expected to grow by 8% by 2025, mainly thanks to new tools provided by artificial BroadCast Unitedligence in Windows 11.
