GPAA Information Secretary Oleo Akwer Nyalus confirmed the changes in an interview with Radio Tamazuj and said the changes were administrative.

He said: “His removal of the Gumluk and Wiltet County commissioners and announcement of replacement of commissioners was an executive decision and appointment and removal is the prerogative of the government.”

When asked about recent appointments and the unequal racial representation throughout the GPAA administration, Minister Akwo said about two to three Anyuak people were appointed in these recent appointments, including the head of one committee.

He added: “For Jay and Cachipo, they have not been deliberately excluded and further appointments are yet to be announced.”
