A new centre providing services for children, adolescents and young people has opened in Victoria, Gozo.
Minister of Health and Active Ageing Jo Etienne Abela said through this new centre they will benefit 300 individuals and their families.
He explained that a number of services related to the Child Development Assessment Unit (CDAU) and Child and Youth Services (CYPS) will be provided, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, child and adolescent psychiatry, as well as new services such as dental hygienist (education), community paediatrics and family therapy.
“Even in Gozo we see that there is a facility like this that can provide modern and comprehensive services. The facility is also close to the Gozo General Hospital which, as has been announced, has a development and revitalization plan,” the minister said.
“The goal of the centre is to provide health care services and support to patients and their relatives or those who care for them,” said Minister Jo Etienne Abela.
