European Parliament President Roberta Messora posted on Facebook on Sunday that “This Tuesday I will stand for re-election as President of the European Parliament because I firmly believe in Europe.”
“I firmly believe that Europe has and will continue to make a huge positive difference in people’s lives. From Helsinki to Nadur, from Madeira to Warsaw, in all cities, regions, islands, towns and villages, Europe is the answer,” said Ms Mesola.
“I want a stronger, safer, fairer Europe that people can feel and touch in their daily lives. A Europe of hope that turns the dreams of our young people into reality, that protects, provides opportunities, guarantees workers’ rights and supports investments.
“This is the Europe I am determined to continue working for every day,” she said.
