The Malta Rescue Service, a voluntary organisation, said it will continue to strengthen its presence and capabilities with new specialised equipment to assist its members in carrying out their duties, as well as updating the equipment on board its ambulances.
The plan was made possible thanks to funding from the NGO Project 2023, which is managed by the Island of Gozo and the Ministry of Planning.
Gozo Planning Minister Clint Camilleri praised the NGO for its successful proposal, which enabled it to benefit from the funding.
“Malta Rescue is an organisation that operates in the most professional manner, providing all kinds of first aid assistance, especially during large events. Over the past few months, the organisation has received funding from the Just Cause Fund and from a scheme initiated by the Gozo Department of Planning,” said the Minister.
Malta Rescue President Etienne Micallef thanked the Island of Gozo and the Ministry of Planning for allocating funds to purchase the necessary equipment.
