Joe Bajada, Alvin Grech and Shaun Paul Attard have been appointed president, secretary and treasurer respectively of the International Gozotan Supporters Club.
In his speech at the AGM, Joe Bajada said that they were very satisfied with the team winning two honours last season, including the championship, which earned them a second star, and for this, the fan club organised a free event for its members, and similar events are organised during the season, but on a smaller scale.
He explains that in February the club organised a visit for members to a Champions League match between Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid, with three members acting as flag bearers before the match. On another trip, he was a young supporter and was one of the children chosen to accompany the players before they entered the dressing room during the match against Napoli in March. “These are, without a doubt, unforgettable experiences.”
Bajada said that with Beppe Marotta being appointed as Inter’s new president, the team’s leadership has changed, and the next step for the new season is “We look to the future with optimism and believe that Inter will strive to become a protagonist in Europe again in the new season.”
He said that as a Gozo club, “even though we are small, we have a big heart and Gozo blood.” He reiterated that “we are the only club in Malta and Gozo that does not charge extra when our members ask us for tickets to Inter matches.”
“We have always believed in ourselves. Nine years ago, we received full recognition from the Centro Cordinamento and with the help of everyone, we continued to move forward. Now, our task is to start looking forward to celebrating the 10th anniversary of the company,” Bajada stressed.
He thanked everyone, including colleagues Alvin Grech and Shaun Attard, for the excellent work they have done and will continue to do.
Bajada also expressed special thanks to the Kersem Festival Central Committee for their cooperation over the years.
Joe Bajada has called on interested Gozo people to renew their club memberships.
The Gozotan Club also honored Joseph Camilleri, the club’s most loyal member this year.
