The National Blood Transfusion Service has issued an urgent appeal for donations of blood types A+ and O+, with other blood types also needed to ensure a stable stock.

This Tuesday, September 3, you will have the opportunity to donate in Gozo.

The service is calling on the people of Gozo to show solidarity and to please donate on one of the following four dates in September to support patients in Gozo and Malta hospitals.

Please pledge to become a regular donor and help keep the blood supply stable.

NBTS also said it has updated its donor eligibility guidelines to remove restrictions on several medications. For more information on donor eligibility, call 22066201 or 79307307, or toll-free 80074313.

Donations are made at the Xewkija District Health Centre, located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the primary school and the Bocci Club:

Sunday – Last registration is 1:00pm

September 8, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

September 22, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Tuesday – Last registration is 5:00pm

September 3, 1:00pm to 5:00pm

September 17, 1:00pm to 5:00pm

• Bring your Maltese ID card, driving license or passport.

• Drink some water before donating.

• Wear loose clothing/sleeves.
