During her recent visit to Gozo, Chairperson Myriam Spiteri Debono visited the Gozo Chamber of Commerce premises and held meetings with Council representatives.

Michael Galea, president of the Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the President’s visit and expressed his sincere gratitude for the Chamber’s invitation. Chamber representatives have visited the President at the Presidential Palace.

The Chamber of Commerce said the meeting was “very fruitful”, with discussions covering a variety of topics of mutual interest, such as the economic situation on the island, the resilience of Gozo’s businessmen, sustainability and the environment. Another important item on the agenda was the diversification of Gozo’s economy.

During the meeting, Chamber representatives also highlighted Gozo’s potential to build high value-added economic niches in the education and digital sectors.

At the end of the meeting, the president of the Gozo Chamber of Commerce, Michael Galea, presented the president, Myriam Spiteri Debono, with a photograph of Gozo taken by Daniel Cilia.
