‘Government fatigue’ is a major obstacle to improving public services

Santo Domingo.- Rafael Castillo, spokesman for the Popular Power party in the House of Representatives, expressed deep concern about the deterioration of public services in the country, highlighting growing inefficiencies in key areas such as energy supply, electricity and education. Castillo, who represents Santo Domingo East’s 2nd District, said President Luis Abinader’s administration has shown noticeable wear and tear as its term has progressed. “Government fatigue is exacerbating its inefficiency. Inefficiencies in electricity service have become a constant that affects the daily lives of Dominicans, causing blackouts and restorations with no solution in sight, a responsibility that the government intends to pass on to the population,” Castillo said.

On education, Castillo denounced the government’s failure to deliver on its promise to improve the quality of education. “We find that our education system has not only not improved, but has gotten worse.
