Government directive on burial of late artist Hamoudi Al-Harithi

Today, Saturday, Prime Minister Mohammad Hijau al-Sudani directed that his remains be transported from the Netherlands to be buried in his country, Iraq.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office received by Alsumaria News said, “Prime Minister Mohammad Hijah Sudani expressed condolences on the death of the great artist Hammoudi Hariti, may the Iraqi people rest in peace.”

The statement added, “With his painful departure, Iraqi art has lost a generous stature and outstanding cultural personality that touched the spirit of the people and expressed their artistic and creative potential.”

He continued, “He instructed Soltani to ensure that his remains were transported from the Netherlands so that he could be buried in his country, Iraq.”

The statement concluded: “I extend my deepest condolences and best wishes to the family and loved ones of the deceased and to the Iraqi cultural and artistic family.”
