The works of Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami are collected by famous art museums around the world. The stage for this exhibition is Kyoto, where the painters of the Edo period (1600-1868) were active and a source of inspiration for Murakami since the early days of his career. This is the first time in eight years that Murakami has held a large-scale solo exhibition in Japan, and many new works are on display, including Murakami’s version of “Luo Wai Luo Zhong Tu” and “Feng Shen Lei Shen Tu”. A special edition of “Summer Flowers in the Golden Sky” is also on display. The 18-meter-long “Cloud Dragon Red Transformation Tu” is also on display for the first time in Japan.
