The 80-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday as the culprit for starting four fires in Glyka Nera last Sunday (August 11) and he will apologize to investigators.
Documentary images of his actions were released today. One photo shows the oil drums found in the trunk of his car, while another video shows him pulling up his vehicle and throwing burning objects. You can even see smoke from the fire he had just started.
The 80-year-old was brought to court today and given a deadline, charged with felony arson with intent to continue, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
The elderly man was blamed for three fires that broke out almost simultaneously in Glicanella at noon on Sunday, 100 metres from each other, while another fire broke out the same evening.
