The border between Gibraltar and Spain was temporarily closed at the weekend after officials carried out a controlled explosion on unattended luggage at the British overseas territory’s airport.
The Ministry of Defence bomb disposal team was called to the airport after staff reported finding a suspicious package.
The airport car park was cordoned off and airport operations were suspended as the Ministry of Defence’s bomb disposal team deployed to the dedicated airport.
Cross-border traffic was temporarily halted while a controlled explosion occurred.
Royal Gibraltar Police controlled traffic while they dealt with the suspicious package.
Cross-border channels have resumed normal services.
