“The biggest challenge now is the future of Georgia, because I think there are only two ways out for Georgia, that is the European way or the ‘Russian world’. So people have to choose whether they want to live under Putin’s kleptocratic rule, under an aggressive rule. I am Lithuanian, I know that Europe has contributed a lot to my country, we joined the EU in 2004, and now Georgians have to decide, which is strange. More than 80% of people support the European way, and some of them still vote for politicians who openly express support for Russia”.

said Rasa Yukneviciene, MEP, who was attending the 8th Tbilisi International Conference, “The Year of Transition”, organised by the McCain Institute, the George W. Bush Institute and the Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC).
