Libreville, Tuesday, August 6, 2024 (Gabon News) – This is what we remember from the Color Ceremony held on August 5 at the CTRI Corniche, the presidential palace of the Republic, in the presence of several celebrities.
The patriotism and bravery of General Brice Clotaire Origi Nguema and his comrades have borne fruit. The Transitional President was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit on Monday and was made Grand Master of the Order of National Liberation.
The ceremony took place at the Palace of the Presidency of the Republic and was attended by members of the CTRI, the Transitional Government, the presidents of the institutions, administrative officials of the Palace of the Presidency of the Republic, as well as the Archbishop of Libreville and former dignitaries of the Republic.
The presidential press agency that conveyed this information gave all the details about the ceremony. “The ceremony, solemn and dignified, was marked by the traditional flag-raising ceremony, the recognition by the Grand Chancellor of the National Order of Liberation of His Excellency General Blaise Clotaire Origi Nguema as Grand Master of the National Order of Liberation (wearing the scarf of the tricolor national colors and the Order of Liberation), and the stage for the distinguished host to congratulate the Head of State”.
Please note that the National Liberation Medal was created by Decree No. 294/PT-PR/GCONA of July 31, 2024. It was established by the Institutional Transition and Restoration Commission (CTRI) to reward individuals or military and civilian communities who have made outstanding contributions to the liberation operations of Gabon on August 30, 2023 and the transition process.
Members of the order hold the title Companions of Liberator, two degrees and one dignity, notably Knight and Commander and the Grand Cross.
In accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 0590/PR of May 3, 1993, which defines and establishes the affiliation, organizational and operational rules of the Grand Chancellery of the Order of National Liberation, the President of the Transitional Period is the Grand Master of the Order of National Liberation, assisted by a Council of nine members appointed by the Grand Master.
The Head of State, in his capacity as Grand Master of the Order of the Nation, awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Nation to the Grand Justice of the Order of the Nation and members of the Order of the Nation Commission.
