A red Honda CR series off-road motorcycle was seized by the police

This morning, police carried out an operation based on the instructions of the intelligence unit and arrested a man suspected of stealing at least four motorcycles.

The operation, which took place today (Wednesday 21 August), targeted unauthorised thefts of motorbikes in the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) and the East End, with a total of five motorbikes seized.

Detectives from Cabra and Blanchardstown police stations raided a property as part of an investigation into organised crime in the Blanchardstown area west of the DMR.

After a search, five motorcycles were found.

Four of the vehicles were confirmed to have been stolen in recent months in Dublin, Kildare and County Meath.

A man in his 40s was arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a police station in DMR.

Gardaí are hoping to identify the owner of the fifth motorcycle, a red Honda CR series motocross bike, and confirm its status.

Anyone who believes they are the owner of this vehicle and it may have been stolen in the past few months is asked to contact Blanchardstown Police Station on 01 666 7000.
