The forum, held at the GCCI office on Thursday, August 29, 2024, marked the premier collaboration between the World Cooperative Industry Organization (WCI) and GCCI to promote the development of small and medium enterprises.
The forum aims to prepare for the upcoming WCI Forum to be held on October 16-17, 2024 in Istanbul, Turkey.
Conferences hosted by GCCI bring together some of the leading experts to share their knowledge, experience and perspectives on the evolving global industry landscape.
The WCI Forum (World Cooperation Industry Forum) to be held in October is Turkey’s annual international business forum and B2B meeting with Turkish manufacturers and exporters.
Turkish Ambassador to Gambia Fahri Turk Oba told the seminar that the forum was an opportunity for him to introduce Turkey to the business community, saying that sometimes people do not always find the right partners.
“I am here to make sure people find each other and we hope that events like these will ensure you find each other properly,” he said, adding that participants at the conference should take further steps towards matchmaking and B2B collaboration.
He further encouraged the participants to address their questions and further business transactions to the Turkish Embassy and assured that they would do their best to answer their questions. He reiterated that they value the good friendship between Gambia and Turkey.
Utku Bengisu, chairman of the WCI Forum, said that since the company was founded in 2012, they have been organizing business forums to collaborate and discuss business opportunities between Turkey and other organizations in various African countries.
Chairman of the Gambia-Turkey Business Council, Fatou Sengore, said the Chamber is committed to the growth and development of businesses in the country, adding that the Gambia-Turkey Business Council hopes that the event will play a key role in promoting innovation, cooperation and sustainable development across various industries.
