Libreville, Thursday, August 1, 2024 (Gabon News) – The Gabonese head of state is expected to hold a one-on-one meeting with President Yoweri Museveni this Thursday (August 1) in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.
The 72-hour official visit of the transitional President of Gabon to Uganda will be an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations that unite the two countries and share experiences. The two heads of state will also have the opportunity to explore points of cooperation that will benefit the citizens of both countries with a view to revitalizing the Libreville-Kampala axis.
Diplomatic relations between Gabon and Uganda date back to 1977. Gabon has begun to diversify its economy and is taking advantage of all economic opportunities, especially within the framework of South-South cooperation.
Therefore, the visit of the President of the Republic, accompanied by the First Lady Zita Origi Nguema to Ugandan soil will be an opportunity to elevate Gabon to the top.
General Brice Clotaire Origi Nguema is making the first visit by a Gabonese head of state to the Southern African Development Community member state, having previously attended the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in France before travelling to Morocco on a private tour.
