On Tuesday, May 29, the French parliament decided to expel Sebastien Delogne, a member of the opposition France Pride party, from the country for 15 days for raising the Palestinian flag during a session of the National Assembly (the second chamber of parliament).

LCP, a French broadcaster of parliamentary news, reported that Delogne raised the Palestinian flag in solidarity with Gaza residents who have suffered months of Israeli attacks.

She added that opposition deputies greeted the raising of the Palestinian flag during the session with applause, prompting Parliament Speaker Yael Brown-Peveh to suspend the session.

She said parliament decided to deport Dilogo for 15 days.

Israel has been waging a devastating war in the Gaza Strip since October 7 last year, killing and injuring more than 117,000 Palestinians, most of them children and women, and leaving about 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine, which has also killed children and the elderly.
