A Russian citizen involved in the fraud was arrested in Semipalatinsk. A 22-year-old man rented an apartment in the city and converted it into a communications center.

A citizen of a neighboring country came to the city specifically to engage in telephone fraud. He called residents, introduced himself as a bank or police officer, and asked them to sit down. During the search of the rental apartment, 281 SIM cards, two mobile phones and special equipment were confiscated. Currently, the suspect is in prison and pretrial investigation is underway. It is also being determined how much money he stole through the phone.
