Yam Wing-wah, co-chair of the 2024 Future Science Prize Week Program Committee and founding member of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences, hopes that the government, enterprises, academia and the private sector will work together to encourage young people to pursue their dreams, pass on the torch of science, and contribute to the future of mankind. Liang Yingyu, the 2024 rotating chairperson of the Future Forum Council, said that young people are the future of the motherland and the cause of scientific and technological innovation. She hopes to attract more young people to care about the scientific development of the country and the world, and contribute their wisdom and youthful strength to the realization of the country’s innovation-driven development strategy.

The Future Science Prize was established in 2016 and is known as the “Chinese Nobel Prize”. The award is nominated by invitation only and professionally reviewed by a scientific committee composed of outstanding scientists. The award is based on the principles of fairness, justice and credibility, and maintains the independence of the award. The winning work must meet three conditions at the same time, including having a huge international impact, being original, of long-term importance or having stood the test of time, and being mainly completed in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. The nationality of the completer is not limited.
