From Monday, August 5, to Sunday, August 11, the National Police arrested four robbers, two drug suppliers, a cattle thief and a sexual abuser in different locations in Masaya province.

Police reports said Diego Alexandre Pavon Osorio, José Antonio Salmerón Perez and José Acanjel Ruiz Barillas were arrested for carrying out the attacks in the cities of Mazatepe and Masaya.

Likewise, in the city of Las Flores, suspect Milton Antonio Mendieta Rodríguez was arrested for violent robbery.

On the other hand, Víctor Manuel Parrales Cerda and Byron Alfonso González Beteta were arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs in Mazatepe and 250 grams of cannabis, two mobile phones and money from drug sales were seized.

In another order, Javier Francisco Suárez Asensio was arrested for theft.

Finally, Edwin José Perez Guzman was arrested in the city of Tisma for rape.

Masaya police authorities added that as part of the preventive operations this week, they provided 1,028 foot and mobile surveillance and patrol services, in addition to operational supervision in different places of recreation and daily activities.

The bullfighting fence was also covered in honor of the celebrations of the patron saints of the cities of Nindiri and Niquiñomo.

Under the national “Save Lives” campaign, home visits were conducted to teach road safety education manuals to protect lives.

In addition, 115 checkpoints were set up, 2,458 vehicles and 3,589 people were seized, 60 drunk drivers were arrested, 44 motorcycles, eight cars and eight trucks were seized for not complying with road traffic regulations.
