“We have been recognized in Southeast Asia because of our efforts in transformation, and we will continue to encourage state-owned enterprises to become the locomotive of national economic growth.”

Jakarta(ANTARA) –
State-Owned Enterprises Minister Eric Thohir said four state-owned enterprises have now received global recognition as a result of their transformation efforts.

The four state-owned companies – Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Mandiri, state telecom company Telkomsel and Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) – were included in the top 30 most valuable brands in Southeast Asia for 2024 by Kantar BrandZ.

“Thank God, four state-owned enterprises have been recognized by Kantar, a leading global marketing and data analytics company,” Thohir said in a post on his Instagram account on Tuesday.

He added that this global recognition would not have been possible without the company’s transformation and hard work.

He said he would continue to encourage state-owned enterprises to become the driving force of national economic growth.

“We are able to gain recognition in Southeast Asia because of our own transformation and efforts. We will continue to encourage state-owned enterprises to become the locomotive of national economic growth,” he added.

Kantar’s 2024 Southeast Asia Top 30 Most Valuable Brands list lists 30 Southeast Asian companies with a total brand value of US$131.1 billion. Indonesian companies dominate the list, accounting for 46% of the total companies.

Of these 30 companies, eight are from Indonesia, four of which are state-owned enterprises.

Earlier, during a working meeting with the House of Representatives, Minister Thohir said that the liquid assets of state-owned enterprises will increase from IDR 8,312 trillion (USD 524 million) in 2020 to IDR 10,402 trillion (USD 656 million) in 2023.

The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises has a total of 88 strategic projects, of which 81 projects (92%) have been completed.

“We have strengthened governance and risk management. We have planned how many projects we can complete, a total of 88 projects,” he said on August 3, 2024.
