APS learned from Lieutenant Saliou Diaw, commander of the 63rd Fire and Rescue Company of firefighters, that four people were missing after a canoe capsized in the village of Boutoumbou in the Bakr Governorate (East).

According to him, the sinking of the canoe took place on Saturday.

“The canoe was carrying eight people, all of Malian nationality. Four are missing. A rescue operation has been launched to find them. There are four survivors,” said Mr Dio.

The passengers on the canoe were Malian traders heading to an area of ​​Senegal close to Mali.
