Rinah Rakotomanga has officially presented herself as an independent candidate for mayor of Antananarivo through her official Facebook account. His campaign slogan resonates like an ode to Irivo, does his plan really stand out from previous city leaders?

First, Irivo, the center of the country, and then “The Pride of All Malagasy,” where we can see a unifying slogan clearly marking the location of the capital of Madagascar. The general outlines of his campaign plan constitute a real work in progress:

  • Urgent measures should be taken to restore urban sanitation, formulate public security plans, ensure urban safety, and be conducive to the improvement of the living environment
  • Priority measures, helping the poorest, providing housing for the homeless, restructuring markets, access to free drinking water and affordable electricity, and reducing traffic congestion
  • planning with a long-term vision, socio-economic recovery and development, redefining urban development planning and land regularization.

Rinah Rakotomanga’s candidacy has been planned for about 10 years, more precisely, the Republic DirCom (2019-2021) wanted to run for this key position for 14 years.

The former Malagasy television journalist wants to reform municipal administration and aims to harmonize administrative procedures. The goal is to be able to provide citizens with valuable public services.

Another contender for the title of First Judge of the City of a Thousand People is PCA of Air Madagascar (who has resigned).

Rinah Rakotomanga affirms that her commitment to improving the capital has nothing to do with political strategy as she will run on an independent list with the support of associations and foreign partners.
