Dr Ahmed said: “It has the highest absorption rate of all nutritional supplements, but be careful because it can cause diarrhoea, so if you suffer from constipation it is good, and some studies show it can also help with migraines.”
Magnesium Glycinate
Doctors say glycine is an amino acid and neurotransmitter, so this nutritional supplement is particularly helpful for treating poor sleep and low mood.
Magnesium threonate
“It’s the only nutritional supplement that can cross the blood-brain barrier, so it really helps with cognition and memory,” Dr. Ahmed said.
Magnesium Taurate
Studies show it can help control blood pressure and manage blood sugar, but more research is needed,” the doctor said.
He explains that if you suffer from high blood pressure or diabetes, this nutritional supplement may be beneficial for you (with your doctor’s advice).
Magnesium sulfate
“This supplement is great for people who can’t take pills. It’s also called Epsom salts. You can put it in your bath and absorb the magnesium through your skin,” he continued.
