FC Barcelona’s German coach Hansi Flick was hopeful this Friday that winger Dani Olmo would finally be registered in time for Saturday’s league match against Athletic Club.
The Spanish European Cup winner joined the Catalan club from RB Leipzig this summer but has yet to be registered in La Liga due to Barca’s financial problems.
But the club opened the door to a move to Manchester City for German midfielder Gundogan on Friday, which could see Olmo register.
“(Finance) is not my job, we work with the team and I like what I have seen this week, Danny is ready to play, we are waiting for him and hopefully he will be in the team tomorrow,” Flick told the press this Friday.
“He can help us, which is very good for us, he is an impressive player,” he added.
Olmo, 26, was one of the architects of Spain’s Euro 2024 title bid and he was one of the Spanish team’s top scorers with three goals.
