Financial group Sagicor Jamaica celebrates its 50th anniversary today (June 1)
Sagicor Jamaica is built on the foundation of Life in Jamaica (LOJ), which was founded on June 1, 1970 as the brainchild of Mr. R. Danny Williams. Today (June 1) marks Sagicor Jamaica’s 50th anniversary. The company is celebrating this milestone with a number of island-wide activities including customer treats at all branches islandwide, gifts for customers celebrating their 50th birthday, and 50th anniversary marketing collateral including the display of the gold brand logo on branches and outdoor signage.
These initiatives will set the tone for the company’s year-round anniversary celebrations, which are themed “Beyond Gold” and will highlight the company and team members’ growth and history, contribution to the development of the local insurance and financial industry and its commitment to national development through meaningful corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Christopher Zacca, president and CEO of the Sagicor Group of Jamaica, said the organization used the commemoration to reflect on the company’s journey, honor its founders and thank team members, customers, shareholders and other stakeholders who have contributed to the company’s success.
“We are where we are today thanks to our solid foundation, the passion and dedication of our team members, and the strong support and loyalty we have received from our customers, shareholders and other stakeholders over the years,” Zacca said.
“Fifty years in business is a significant accomplishment, and I am truly humbled and honored to be a part of this history; it is also great to celebrate this milestone with LOJ founder R. Danny Williams, who has been a vital member of the Sagicor family.”
Zakar shared that other events during this period include a grand virtual “Thank You” concert, bringing together local talent to celebrate, and a Community Heroes Corporate Social Responsibility program, which will recognize and reward individuals who embody Sagicor’s vision and give back to the community for development.
