Ferdinand Pérez, host and political analyst, apologized to viewers at the beginning of Friday’s edition of “Jugando Pelota Dura” for the discomfort he felt late Thursday due to a technical error in the transmission of the show. He is also the producer.
Perez assured that his aim was to seek “perfection” in the show for the loyal audience that tunes in through TeleOnce and apologized for the vulgar remarks that were broadcast, when he thought he had not struck out in front of the camera.
“Yesterday, I accidentally made a gesture and some expressions that were a little rude for some and very funny for others. The social networks have been hosting a party on this topic and I love it, but I want to use the space to apologize to those who were offended by my remarks. It was not my intention, just to seek the perfect reaction in this show,” Perez said.
He added: “I am very demanding and want you to get the very best television products in your home and my obsession with quality can sometimes make me lose my temper like I did yesterday, and here’s my excuse.”
His comments were joined by the panel on Friday’s show, who assured Perez that he would treat the show’s technical staff with empathy.
During Thursday’s show, a technical error occurred when Jorge Colberg Toro, a former deputy of the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) and a political analyst, was about to speak, but his voice could not be heard due to sound problems.
Perez was on camera when the issue occurred and, without realizing it, he made an irritated hand gesture while he said “I shit motherfucker.”
On social networks, this moment has become the protagonist of several memes.
