FDA and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology host international conference on microbiome science and digital health

The Saudi Food and Drug Administration and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) will organize a joint international conference titled “Advances in Microbiome Science and Digital Health Concepts” from October 30 to November 1, 2023, at the Thuwal Center, the headquarters of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Jeddah. The first session will feature elite experts and speakers from the Kingdom and around the world over the course of three days. This is to discuss the latest research, including the “One Health” concept and various aspects of microbiome science.

It also highlights how digital and computing resources can be effectively used to bring together different research pillars, research groups and entities to digitize important data for microbial epidemiological tracking; aiming to strengthen the concept of “One Health” to control epidemics and reduce the transmission of infectious diseases to humans through animals, food or the environment.

The conference will include daily panel discussions on topics that address the needs and aspirations of the local and international research community, with a particular focus on the microbiome, One Health and digitalization in these areas. Collaboration with relevant government agencies is also aimed at this.

The conference aims to bring together scientists and researchers in the field of microbiome and single digital health, to exchange ideas and experiences among researchers, to present their latest findings and to discuss key trends and ideas. To strengthen and build a strong scientific community, especially in the Kingdom and globally.
