Meta Platforms, the parent company of social platform Facebook (fb), announced on Wednesday (7th)Revised new policywhen creators with professional accounts violate the Community Guidelines for the first time, they can participate in a new training course, and after completing the course, they can receive a warning removal from the platform. The new feature will be more widely promoted in the coming months. For creators who rely on Facebook for a living, the new measures will provide a “sentence reduction” opportunity, avoiding penalties such as bans, so as not to affect their livelihoods.

The training content revolves around the details of the Community Guidelines that the user has violated. Creators will receive a course notification. After choosing to participate and completing the course in the application, the platform will automatically lift the warning restrictions.

In the past, when Facebook discovered that a creator violated the rules, it would inform the owner that the relevant content had been removed and list the reasons for the deletion. If the creator repeats the same mistake within one year of the first violation, in addition to receiving a formal warning, a record will also be kept. If the creator continues to violate the rules, the scope of dissemination of the creator’s content will be further narrowed, which will hit their influence and popularity, thereby limiting their profit margins.

Serious conduct disqualifies you

According to Meta’s latestPenalty systemAfter a user crosses the red line for the first time, they will generally only receive a warning and will not be further restricted. If the violation occurs for the second to sixth time, Facebook will restrict the user from using group posting and other functions for a specified period of time. Starting from the seventh violation, the punishment will gradually become “severe”, stipulating that no new content can be created within one day, including posting, leaving comments, and creating fan pages. If the violation occurs again, the “detention” can be extended to 3 days, 7 days, and 30 days, or even the account operation can be suspended.

Starting from the date of the first violation, the account will be restricted for a period of time and will not be allowed to post advertisements or use Facebook Live. If the violation is serious, including posting child sexual exploitation content, the account will be suspended once involved. Meta reiterates that posting content containing sexual exploitation, selling high-risk drugs, or glorifying dangerous organizations and individuals will not be eligible for the revocation of the warning.

Faced with billions of posts, photos, videos and comments, including content generated by artificial intelligence (AI), they are manually reviewed one by one, and they are also processed automatically with the help of tools. In some cases, the platform allows content that may violate the code, but it must be consistent with the reporting value and public interest.
