Tegucigalpa – National Party presidential candidate calls Friday a disgrace, Nasri “Tito” AsfraHonduras is now in conflict with the United States for condemning the extradition agreement.

The former mayor warned that this action would certainly cause problems for thousands of our compatriots living in the country and supporting the economy of millions of families in our land.

“It’s a disgrace, the United States is our biggest ally and trading partner, we have more than 2 million Hondurans in the country,” he said, adding that this represents no less than $10 billion in remittances to Honduras each year, a large number of family groups.

He added that the millions of Hondurans living in the United States support no less than 29% of the economy. “How can we risk their permanent presence in this country? Why can’t we give them security and tranquility so that they can continue to work there?”

Asfra also believes that the issue of extradition is “an important means of justice and we need this support to combat drug trafficking.”

“If we don’t cooperate on this issue, what’s going to happen to the products that we ship to the country, the people that live there, the people that arrive at the border, TPS, there are a lot of things that are at risk and we have to be careful about these issues, everybody,” he added.
