A police officer was injured this morning after an explosion occurred outside a showroom in southern France. French newspaper Le Parisien said two cars were slightly ablaze when police arrived at the scene. A gas cylinder in a second car then exploded, injuring the officer. The showroom was empty, but French media reported that a fire had also been seen at the door.
French Interior Minister Ferrard Darmanin said in a statement on social media X that it was clear that this was a criminal act.
