Visual artist Mohamed Abla confirmed that the exhibition “Greetings with Love from Egypt” is in solidarity with Syrian artist Ali Farzat and essentially in solidarity with artist Farzat and the Syrian people in general, and emphasizes the right to demonstrate and freedom of expression throughout the Arab world.
Ahmed Toghan, president of the Egyptian Cartoon Association, which organized the exhibition, also said that the exhibition was an expression of Egyptian artists’ support for the Syrian people, and stressed that the association has not stopped supporting “Farzat” and is preparing a special document on Syrian artists in a magazine published by the association. In the future, he believes that painters are at the forefront of defending freedom.
Last Tuesday, the Egyptian Cartoon Artists Association, in collaboration with Cairo Studio, launched the “Greetings with Love from Egypt” exhibition for Syrian artist Ali Farzat.
The week-long exhibition features 50 works by artist Ali Farzat, and 20 works by Egyptian artists Ahmed Togan, Mohamed Al-Sabbagh, Mustafa Al-Sheikh, Hassan Farouk, Hassan Fadawy and Samir Abdel. Ghani also expressed solidarity between artists and the public by writing a white mural on it and sending it to Syrian artists.
