Protaras and Paralimni are the busiest this week. Restaurants are packed, beaches are packed and bars are buzzing. Love it or hate it. For those who dare to go with the flow and enjoy the best the area has to offer (let’s be honest, there’s enough of it), Protaras is hosting a series of live music and party events this weekend.
First up is the much-anticipated Music Element, a packed electronic music party that is not for the faint of heart. Held only twice a year, Music Element is a popular event that almost always sells out. DJs take to the stage as early as 5:30pm, crowds gather and the atmosphere builds throughout the evening as a line-up of DJs plays techno, EDM and electronic music. Fireworks, holiday-themed make-up, cocktails and an impressively large lighted stage added to the party atmosphere. Since the event took place at the residential Ayia Triada beach, the party ended around midnight.
Kalifi Beach Bar prepares a series of music nights to celebrate the mid-August holidayOn Thursday, Vasilis Dimas will perform live Greek music, while DJ Andre will be on stage. On Friday, Aimili Charalambous will perform a set that mixes Greek and international songs, while on Saturday, Christina Ralli will sing live Greek songs. At the end of the week, DJ Andre will be the guest performer again on Sunday.
Serena Beach Restaurant also plans to launch a series of exciting music events this week to allow guests to fully enjoy the summer party atmosphere. There will be live performances from different DJs every day to liven up the atmosphere, and on Saturdays Hovig will perform a special live performance.
As the holiday also continues into next week, Protaras will host more music events. The Paralimni-Driniya Municipality will host an acoustic music performance under the full moon on MondayThree musicians will perform live and free of charge in the square behind Fig Tree Bay and in front of the Nausica Hotel. Zena Melekki on piano, Irene Pelagia on violin and Marios Stylianou on cello form the event “Araxe je Akou”.
