Ethiopia and Iran vow to strengthen bilateral ties –

Addis Ababa, July 10, 2024 (Address) Ethiopia and Iran pledged to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Ambassador Mesganu Argha, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, received the new Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ethiopia, Ali Akbar Rezai.

Ambassador Mesganu congratulated Iran on the successful holding of the second presidential election. The State Minister assured Ethiopia’s commitment to working with the newly elected Iranian President, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.

During the discussion, Ambassador Mesganu stressed the need to explore various avenues, including BRICS, to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Iranian Ambassador-designate Ali Akbar Rezai said Iran is committed to further expanding bilateral relations in all areas, including technology transfer, education, trade and investment.

To this end, he expressed plans to restart meetings of the Egypt-Iraq Joint Ministerial Committee on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in the near future.
