Unable to breathe and agitated due to the deformity, the minor underwent minimally invasive high-tech surgery. It is worth mentioning that this pathology causes compression of the lung structure, breathing difficulties, chest pain and affects the patient’s self-esteem.

Dr. José Manuel Palacios León, head of the Thoracic Surgery Service, said the disease must be evaluated from an early age and treatment is usually carried out during adolescence (10 to 17 years old) because the chest is flexible at this stage.

It is noteworthy that the surgery time was reduced from five hours to two hours due to the small incision, and the patient’s recovery was very fast. Likewise, the metal rod will remain in the body for 3 years and then be removed.
