After several tests in recent months, Comú d’Encamp has implemented from Monday July 22 advance appointments and new processing spaces to reduce waiting times at the formalities desks.
Over the past few months, the Parish Corporation has made progress in implementing digital processing, so that citizens can complete the vast majority of procedures entirely from home, thus avoiding visits to public offices.
However, many citizens still prefer direct attention or do not have the necessary tools to carry out their procedures online, which is why, as Consul Major Laura Mas explains, “the Commune has implemented from July 22 the previous appointment procedure service and inaugurated a new processing space with a digital totem to reduce waiting times when you go in person to manage it at the Encamp Public Residence”.
The new appointment system will allow you to book a date and time through a public website. Once you arrive in person at the commune, a procedure agent will be assigned to the person with the prior appointment to handle them depending on the type of inquiry or procedure.
Those who go directly to the hospital for processing without making an appointment in advance will be processed in the same way, but must abide by the shift time arranged in the appointment, except for those over 65 years old and those with functional diversity, who will be given priority.
“If someone doesn’t have an appointment, they will be treated the same, but if they have an appointment, the wait time will be reduced,” Maas explained.
This system is only available for the Encamp program service, as the Pas de la Casa program service has a lower user volume and therefore has no waiting time.
In parallel with the pre-booking system, the commune has inaugurated a new processing space, equipped with computer equipment so that with the help of the processing agents, people with digital certificates can learn how to complete their procedures online so that on future occasions, if they wish, they can do it online without having to travel, or, if they do not have the computer tools to do so, then the universal equipment can help that digital device to reduce the queues in the same procedure service if someone comes without an appointment.
The new appointment system and the new processing space complement the improvements started last semester with the renewal of the public web space and the digitization of formalities and procedures to simplify and speed up public processing.
Currently, up to 115 procedures can be completed entirely online, and all public procedures are paperless from start to finish.
Consul Major explained that “we will continue the entire digital transformation process that we have already started so that municipal management becomes more flexible and closer to citizens every day”.
Extension of service hours for general hospitalization procedures in Encamp
The Consul Major also explained that the formalities service at the Encamp Public Residence is open to the public from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, and from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm on Friday eve, summer and school holidays. The public opening hours of Pas de la Casa are from 8 am to 4 pm from Monday to Thursday, and from 8 am to 2:30 pm on Friday, on the eve of public holidays, summer and school holidays.
In this sense, Maas added, “we have extended the hours of service provided to the public and are providing new systems to allow for a wider and more flexible service, always striving to improve the quality of services provided to citizens and businesses”.
