LONDON – A pair of blue suede shoes worn by Elvis Presley early in his career have sold at auction for £120,000.
The King of Rock and Roll wore the shoes on and off stage throughout the 1950s, including a stint when he appeared on Steve Allen’s TV show.
According to the PA media outlet, Presley gave the shoes to his friend after he was drafted into the Army.
The singer acquired them after singing Carl Perkins’ “Blue Gazelle Shoes” on his first album.

According to Srna, the shoes were estimated to fetch between £100,000 and £120,000 before the auction at Henry Aldridge and Son auction house in Wiltshire.
“This is an outstanding piece of show business, music and pop culture memorabilia,” auctioneer Andrew Aldridge said.
He stressed that the shoe has a complete origin story — a chronology of ownership from Presley to today.
