El Salvador and India have taken a new step in bilateral relations by signing a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in innovation and cybersecurity.
The signing of the agreement was the result of a meeting between El Salvador’s Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill Tinoco and India’s Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles Pabitla Margarita.
During the meeting, the two authorities discussed key issues such as bilateral cooperation, investment and infrastructure projects. Minister Hill stressed El Salvador’s interest in attracting investments in areas such as renewable energy and innovation as part of the Salvadoran government’s strategy to boost the country’s economic development.
As part of the visit, Minister Margarita donated medicines, medical equipment and essential supplies as part of India’s continued support to El Salvador.
In addition, an evaluation was conducted on the Early Warning Solutions pilot project, which aims to improve responses to natural disasters and was implemented with technical support from the Government of India.
