The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 10 suspected illegal miners in Oyo State.
Dele Oyewale, spokesperson for the anti-corruption agency, said in a statement statement It said on Monday that the suspects were arrested in Ogbomoso and that among the vehicles arrested were six trucks loaded with lithium.
The suspects include Yunusa Adisa, Ganiyu Kazeem, Muideen Babayemi, Sulaiman Usman, Adeleke Waliu, Tiamiyu Rokeeb, Olusola Sunday, Oyedokun Oluwagbemiga, Sulaimon Ishiaq and Olufimihan Eniola.
Oyewale further said the suspects would be charged in court following investigation into the case.

Oyewale said: “Operators of the Ibadan Zonal Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arrested 10 suspects of illegal mining in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
“The arrests were made following credible intelligence reports that the police were involved in illegal exploitation of solid mineral resources, especially lithium, in the state and evacuated the persons to unknown destinations.
“Once the investigation is complete, the suspect will be charged.”
