State Commission on Elections (CEE) chairperson-in-command Jessika Padilla Rivera was summoned to appear before a public hearing of the House Committee on Election Affairs over multiple irregularities reported following the primary election campaign last Sunday.
The CEE press officer confirmed this information to Puerto Rico Metro. The hearing is scheduled for next Thursday at 1:00 pm at the Capitol.
The hearing will be chaired by the committee’s chairman, Popular Democratic Party (PPD) representative José “Conny” Varela.
Earlier, the alternate chairman of the National Election Commission (CEE) revealed that there were inconsistencies in the results released by various polling stations. In a recent review, 121 schools with inconsistent results were found, of which 91 belonged to the PNP and 30 to the People’s Democratic Party (PPD).
“When we found out that these schools were not the only ones with inconsistent results, the review parameters expanded,” Padilla explained. “Now we are finding more and more schools reporting results that don’t match what the review reported on the day of the event.”
Regarding Dominion’s electronic counting machines, Padilla mentioned that they have not yet received a complete report on the inconsistent transmission of results. “We need to know why they are not transmitting correctly,” he emphasized.
Dominion is expected to present and explain the requested report at a meeting tomorrow.
Padilla also reported that during a meeting with Dominion Representative Juan Serratti, the company admitted its mistakes and took responsibility, and apologized to the full committee.
Tomorrow’s meeting with the Dominion is crucial to clarify the reasons for the inconsistency and ensure the integrity of the electoral process in future events.
