“Education” is not credible…the victims are our children!

*(Aptitude test or measurement) was approved in 1422 AH; subsequently “achievement test” was adopted, one of their declared goals was to know the aptitude of students, reduce their dropouts and failures in college, and to achieve justice in higher education by determining the academic level of male and female students. This was to counter possible irregularities in secondary school examinations in rural or private schools. *****

* Today, more than 24 years have passed since that day, and in my opinion, the real reason for these tests is the “crisis of confidence” that the Ministry of Education is suffering from. It does not trust its high school graduates, so it forces them to take exams (competency and grades) before entering university, and to confirm this, it also does not trust the abilities of these university graduates and their educational diplomas. It requires them to take “competency tests” before accepting them as school teachers, and then the Ministry of Education continues to doubt its teachers. Therefore, they are obliged to undergo regular tests and professional licenses every five years!

*(Our sons and daughters are victims of the lack of confidence (in secondary school graduates) by the Ministry of Education; (the results of the aptitude and achievement tests) determine their university studies and thus their future. 12 years of hard work, struggle, and study have become worthless. It accounts for only 30% of the weighted percentage of university admission, and these two exams account for the largest and most serious proportion.

* Evaluate the experiments (measurement tests and their siblings) fairly and consider abolishing them, or at least giving them a percentage not exceeding 15%, or 20% of the weightage in university admissions; especially as warned by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Issa, former Minister of Education, education expert and official, in an article published in Al-Hayat newspaper on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 (the dangers of measurement tests).

* Finally, the Ministry of Education (may God bless and strengthen it) is the one who implements (measurement tests, or abilities, achievements, competencies and professional licenses); so the logic is free, or the Ministry charges, I suggest it find a media sponsor to cover the costs in exchange for its advertising in the test centers, computers, platforms, because these tests are conducted every year for millions of citizens, and for your safety M.
