Ecobank Uganda Limited has entered into a strategic partnership with Ria Money Transfer, a global leader in cross-border remittance services. The partnership will significantly improve remittance options in Uganda, enabling customers to directly transfer funds into their Ecobank accounts. Account holders and non-account holders alike will have the option to receive cash remittances instantly at any Ecobank branch or through the bank’s nationwide branch network.

Speaking about the partnership, Ecobank Uganda Managing Director, Ms. Grace Muliisa, stressed the importance of the partnership for Ugandans both at home and abroad, especially in the UK, US and the Middle East. She noted that the partnership makes it easier for Ugandans abroad to send money to their loved ones in Uganda. “There is a growing need to provide seamless financial solutions for Africans abroad. We are delighted to partner with Ria Money Transfer to make remittance services more secure and efficient for all Ugandans,” said Ms. Muliisa.

She also stressed that the partnership is in line with Ecobank’s mission to provide unparalleled convenience in global money transfer services and strengthen its position as a trusted partner for the Ugandan diaspora.

Echoing the sentiments, Mr. El Hadj Malick Seck, Managing Director of Ria Money Transfer – Africa, stressed that the partnership is a valuable addition to Ria’s network of more than 580,000 physical locations in nearly 200 countries. He noted that East Africa, and Uganda in particular, is crucial to Ria’s business, and stressed that the partnership will make it easier for Ugandans to send money to their families back home.
