At a press conference following a government council meeting on Wednesday, Amoksi announced that legislation regulating the use of electric bicycles (e-bikes) will be finalized soon. At the same time, there are frequent reports of accidents involving such vehicles, sometimes with fatal consequences. With the amendment to the Driving Act, people will be able to ride e-bikes wearing crash helmets from the age of 16.
Amoksi briefly discussed the status of the legislation: “The ministry has submitted the draft law and the Council of Ministers has approved it. It is in the State Council and I still need to check if they have completed the screening and evaluation. And if it reaches that point, it will be processed in the National Assembly. It is not a lengthy law, it is not an extensive law. It will be some adjustments to the Driving Decree, the Driving Act.
