This development came after prosecutor Sergeant Jallow filed an application to withdraw the case under Section 62(1) of the Civil Procedure Act.
The trial judge approved the application and acquitted all the accused persons pursuant to Section 68(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
She then urged the accused to remain peaceful and advised them to behave well in society and avoid falling foul of the law.
Defense attorney K. Camara stood up and said she thanked the prosecutor for the motion to withdraw the case. “I also thank the court for the time it has given us,” she told the court, and advised the defendant: “You are still young and have a bright future. Stay calm.”
