His Highness added: “Our relationship with the UK is long-standing and has expanded extensively in terms of business and logistics. Dubai Ports currently has 34 locations in the UK with 6,000 employees, a number that will increase to 12,000 upon completion of the logistics complex at London Gateway. Our goal is to strengthen and deepen economic cooperation with the United States in the future.”

The largest seaport

London Gateway will be the UK’s largest seaport, handling 55% of the cargo in the south-east of England, and the complex is strategically located just 28 miles from central London, thanks to modern rail services.

Port complex

The port and logistics services complex is currently considered the largest in continental Europe, covering an area of ​​9.5 million square feet, with a port throughput of approximately 2.4 million containers, and terminal throughput is expected to increase by approximately 1 million containers. 4) Opening later this month, the new expansion will bring the total length of the quay to 1,680 meters.

In addition, His Royal Highness heard about the advantages and importance of expanding London Gateway with Berth 4, which is 430 meters long and equipped with Europe’s tallest gantry crane to handle the world’s largest container ships. His Royal Highness also reviewed future plans for Berths 5, 6 and 7, and the additional logistics capacity required for the UK market from 2027.

London Gateway is a deepwater seaport with an integrated logistics complex including four berths and commercial connection capabilities with 130 ports and 27 weekly services.
