“He is extremely remorseful, not only because this happened to Matthew Perry, but because this happened to a patient,” said Chavez’s attorney, Matthew Binninger.
Defense attorneys said the doctor would do everything he could to “correct the mistakes that occurred.” Chavez pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine. As part of the plea agreement, he agreed to give up his medical license.
In total, two doctors are being investigated in Perry’s death.
