The Tailevu Pigeons are still seeking their first win in the Financial Centre Super League after suffering their second defeat in the second round of the weekend.

As a first-time league team, they got their first win of the season by losing to Baby Pearls Team Kikau 34-65.

Reflecting on the team’s performance, Tailevu Netball Club chairman Seini Sorokagi said the players had been given a great learning opportunity so far.

“In the first round we lost to Lautoka and in the second round we lost again to Kikau, but in both games we were able to gauge our strengths and weaknesses.

“The girls train together every day but we still show weaknesses on the court, and that’s OK because that’s how we learn and improve ourselves for the next game,” Sorokaj said.

Looking at other results from the second round, Nasinu Tactix beat Nadroga Stallions 55-42 and defending champions Suva Swifts IGA beat Baby Pearls Team Kacau 65-44 to secure their second win.

The Lautoka Stars were strong and beat Nadi 49-29. In the third round on July 13, Suva will play Tailevu Doves, Baby Pearls Team Kacau will play Nadroga Stallions, Nadi will face Baby Pearls Team Kikau and Nasinu Tactix will play Lautoka Stars.
